Design Technology Teacher – Sheffield

Salary: £140 - £240 (DOE)

Teaching Personnel is looking for a passionate and creative Design Technology (DT) Teacher to join one of our innovative partner secondary schools in Sheffield. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated educator to inspire students, develop practical skills, and contribute to a thriving DT department.

About the Role

As a Design Technology Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable) in areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Textiles, Graphics, or Engineering.
  • Develop students’ practical, creative, and technical skills through hands-on projects.
  • Use assessment data to monitor progress and inform teaching strategies.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages problem-solving, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, departmental development, and extracurricular activities.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement.
About You

We are looking for a DT Teacher who:

  • Holds QTS or QTLS (ECTs and experienced teachers welcome).
  • Has strong subject knowledge across one or more areas of Design Technology.
  • Can inspire students through practical, creative, and innovative teaching.
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Brings energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for technology and design.

Please note that we are looking for a QUALIFIED TEACHER that has experience in teaching construction as well as D&T.
