Job summary

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is offering a CYP Psychological Trainings: Therapy Trainee ASD/LD a 12-month fixed-term training role. You will work within the Paediatric & Adolescent Division delivering supervision-guided, evidence-based interventions for children and young people with Autism or Learning Difficulties as part of the CYP-IAPT programme.

Qualifications

• Minimum second-class Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent standard in a relevant subject (e.g. psychology, social work etc)
• 2+ years of experience in a children and young people’s mental health setting
• 1+ year of clinical competence with Autistic and/or LD individuals
• Knowledge of MDT approach and multi-agency working
• Ability to work from home and at UCLH

Responsibilities

• Accept appropriate referrals and assess suitability for the treatment for which modality-specific training is provided
• Formulate, implement and evaluate therapeutic interventions for clients
• Involve the system around the child in treatment (parent/carer, school)
• Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment
• Keep coherent records of all clinical activity per service protocols
• Work with the team to maintain stepped care arrangements
• Complete PG diploma at UCL/Anna Freud including assessments and private study
• Communicate clearly with the multidisciplinary team, patients and families
