Job summary

BOC Limited, a Linde company, in Belfast seeks a Cylinder Operations Team Leader to manage across three shifts, plan allocation, appraise staff, coach, and set KPIs. You will drive labour coordination and payroll accuracy, while championing safety and quality initiatives.

Leading engagement, developing training plans and enforcing compliance are key parts of the role, with promoting safe behaviour and continuous improvement at the core.

Qualifications

  • Advanced / third level qualification in manufacturing or associated discipline would be desirable.
  • NEBOSH/IOSH Certificate (or equivalent) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cylinder operations team in Belfast across three shifts, including allocation, planning, appraising and KPI setting.
  • Coordinate department labour, holiday requests, absence management and return-to-work interviews.
  • Check and authorise actual hours worked by team members before payroll submission.
  • Promote quality and safety initiatives and lead loss control programme implementation.
  • Lead employee engagement through workplace visits, recognizing correct behaviour and addressing unsafe practices.
  • Ensure training plans exist and assessments are completed for staff within the team.
  • Enforce compliance with mandatory rules, addressing non-compliance through refresher training and coaching.

Job description

  • You will manage the cylinder operations team in Belfast across three shifts - allocation and planning, appraising, coaching, and setting KPI’s and objectives for the individuals concerned
  • Coordinating department labour including holiday requests, absence management and return to work interviews
  • In this role you shall be responsible for checking and authorising actual hours worked by team members before submitting to payroll
  • Promoting Quality and Safety initiatives and playing an active, leading role in the implementation of the safety and loss control programme
  • Lead and undertake employee engagement in theworkplace visits with the emphasis on recognising and rewarding correctbehaviour, addressing unsafe behaviour and substandard conditions.
  • Moreover you will ensure training plans are in place, with Elevate and Practical Competency Assessments complete for staff within the team
  • An important part of this role is to enforce compliance with mandatory rules and procedures, addressing non-compliance issues through refresher training, coaching, support or the use of consequence management
