Evans Cycles in Brighton is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in running daily operations, lead the cycling-focused team, and drive sales. You’ll coach staff on product knowledge, standards of service, and merchandising to ensure a top-notch customer experience.

The role requires leadership experience, a passion for cycling, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends in a busy retail environment. You’ll be part of a dynamic team within the Frasers Group network.

Qualifications

• Retail management or supervisory experience is essential.
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Sales-focused with track record of meeting/exceeding targets.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in leading and motivating the team to deliver excellent service and achieve sales targets.
• Set high standards for customer experience and ensure these are consistently met.
• Drive sales by coaching the team on product knowledge, selling techniques, and service excellence.
• Oversee merchandising standards to keep the store well-presented and commercially strong.
• Assist with staff training and development to grow skills and knowledge.
• Support inventory management including stock levels, restocking, and accuracy checks.
• Oversee cash handling procedures and store operations, including opening and closing duties.
• Promote a safe, compliant and well-organised store environment.
• Gather customer feedback and share ideas to improve store performance.
• Carry out administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll and reporting as required.
