Job summary

Lancashire Constabulary’s Digital Forensics Operational Support Team is seeking a Victim Identification Officer based at Hutton Headquarters. You will help identify real victims of abuse and support live investigations, in collaboration with ICE Teams and CAID resources.

With cutting-edge digital forensic techniques and traditional investigation, you will work to uncover clues in child sexual abuse material and coordinate referrals to the NCA Victim Identification Team.

Qualifications

  • Level 1 of the Public Protection Learning Programme (PPLP) or be prepared to work towards and complete within 12 months from commencement in role.
  • CAID User Training to be completed within 6 months from commencement in role.
  • CAID National Adjudicators Course or prepared to work towards and complete within 6 months from commencement in role.
  • CAID Categorising IIOC – Grading / CAID Awareness within 6 months from commencement in role.
  • College of Policing / NCA-CEOP Victim ID course or be prepared to work towards and complete within 6 months from commencement in role.

Responsibilities

  • To identify victims of child abuse and provide evidence that supports live investigations and the prosecution of suspects.
  • To act as the Victim Identification SPOC for Lancashire in relation to the use of CAID and coordinate all referrals and communications into the National Crime Agency Victim Identification Team and to support CEOP and the National Victim Identification strategy.
  • To keep abreast of new technology and software programmes to ensure that Lancashire Constabulary remains at the cutting edge of Cybercrime advances.
