Job summary

BT Group is seeking a software developer to build a custom product for Global Security Operations Centres using open-source tech. You will translate internal user stories into practical solutions across BT's platforms, delivering on deadlines while seeking improvements.

The role involves contributing to sprint planning, tackling complex issues, and collaborating with internal teams to secure robust, scalable systems within BT's security framework.

• Degree in Computer Science, equivalent commercial experience, or demonstrable self-taught software development.
• Source Control Experience (Git).

About the role

Responsible for developing a custom software product utilising open-source software to support and improve processes for BT’s Global Security Operation Centres. The primary function of the role holder will be to engage with our internal teams and develop their user stories into systematic solutions within our various platforms. This is to be done in a timely manner abiding to project deadlines. The role holder will also leverage their existing knowledge and skills in order to suggest improvements to both the processes and the solutions we support.

Essential Skills / Experience

We are looking for someone with a passion for software development and problem-solving; someone diligent and thoughtful.

Required

• A degree in Computer Science, equivalent commercial experience, or demonstrable self-taught expertise in software development is required.
