GKN Aerospace is seeking a Cyber Security Technician to enhance aviation security and support operations. You'll play a key role in managing security incidents and maintaining cyber controls in a dynamic global environment. You’ll contribute to the future of aviation by delivering operational excellence. The Cyber Security Technician responds to security threats, manages incidents, operates security tools, and collaborates with SOC providers. The role involves troubleshooting cybersecurity issues, staying updated on adversaries and techniques, and supporting internal security measures.
This role offers hybrid working and requires travel to the nearest GKN Aerospace site, with global travel expected twice yearly.
How You'll Contribute
What You'll Bring
Essential:
Relevant Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in high availability & performance infrastructure in a manufacturing environment
Experience working in a virtual, multicultural, global environment
Extensive knowledge of information security, IT risk management, security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and security
Knowledge of Security Information and Event Management systems
Understanding of system architectures and vulnerability risk assessment
Desirable:
Knowledge of aerospace regulations and export controls
Ability to work with stakeholders on security implications
ITIL certification
Knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, Data Protection regulations
Background in network and firewall administration, CCNA certification
Certifications like Security+, CEH, or CISSP
