Job description

Are you a motivated IT professional eager to make an impact at a fast-growing, industry-leading company? Join A-SAFE Group, where you’ll be part of a global team dedicated to redefining workplace safety standards and delivering innovative solutions to some of the world’s largest companies.

Since 1984, A-SAFE has been pioneering industrial safety solutions. We invented the world’s first industrial-strength polymer safety barrier and continue to lead the industry with innovative products like our award-winning IoT solution, RackEye️. From our roots in West Yorkshire to our 17 international subsidiaries, we supply some of the world’s biggest brands – including Amazon, Coca Cola, and BMW. You can read more about our Customer Success Stories here.

You will be the main point of contact for Cyber Security for the A-SAFE Group, supporting our UK sites and 17 global subsidiaries.

You will be working closely with our IT & Business Systems, Digital, and Technology teams, ensuring IT security remains at the forefront of the A-SAFE Group.

Protect the Company from Cybercriminal attacks and data breaches through proactive assessment of system risks and vulnerabilities, recommending and implementing appropriate solutions.

You will maintain and suggest improvements to our existing security posture, which includes, but is not limited to, maintaining our Defender security score, ensuring cyber awareness training is completed, distributing and assigning the correct training material, deploying relevant patches to over 800 endpoints and servers, maintaining scripts, app deployment, and configuration policies through our established Intune platform.

You will ensure we maintain our Cyber Essentials accreditation and work towards ISO27001, collaborate with our managed service providers, external security operations centres, and external penetration testers, and maintain our email security by servicing records such as SPF, DMARC, and DKIM. Additionally, you will ensure we have and maintain our cyber security policies, including incident response plans, risk registers, business continuity plans, standard operating procedures, and document all cyber security procedures and processes.

You will maintain and deploy password managers, ensure cyber security controls within our supply chain, manage and maintain Microsoft Entra, including but not limited to conditional access, privileged identity management, identity protection, Defender for Cloud, and improve our overall security posture for cloud environments, specifically but not limited to AWS and Azure.

You will be expected to provide out-of-hours support to the group in return for an additional monthly payment.

What we would like you to bring to our team:

  • Cloud Security Expertise: knowledge of cloud security, particularly for platforms like AWS and Azure, including but not limited to WAF, RBAC, VNet, Azure Security Centre, S3 buckets, and CloudTrail.
  • Assess current technology architecture for vulnerabilities or weakness, researching and recommending upgrades and improvements.
  • Previous experience/background in a similar cyber security role
  • Experience in leading incident response efforts, including detecting, responding to, and recovering from security breaches.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and Cyber Essentials
  • Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate identified risks. This includes understanding and applying security frameworks and controls
  • Ability to implement continuous monitoring of security systems and provide regular reports on security status and incidents
  • Experience in evaluating and managing relationships with third-party security vendors and service providers
  • Ability to stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies, and adapt strategies accordingly
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address security issues effectively
