Job description

Join to apply for the Cyber Security Lead role at Hymans Robertson.

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our IT department as a Cyber Security Lead, on a full-time basis in our Glasgow office.

What will your role look like?

Our IT team is made up of enthusiastic and experienced IT professionals who provide innovative technology in a collaborative environment. This role is within our IT networking and security team, responsible for maintaining key cyber security technologies and the underlying network infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Lead to manage a small team, drive security initiatives, maximize existing cyber security technologies, and support the IT Network & Security Manager in delivering the IT business plan.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Managing, mentoring, and developing the cyber security team.
  2. Using Azure DevOps to plan and manage team projects.
  3. Advising and managing service request tickets related to cyber security, ensuring SLA compliance.
  4. Optimizing the use of Microsoft Licensing Agreements.
  5. Collaborating with the Security Operations Centre and Networking engineers on security initiatives.
  6. Participating in and leading multi-disciplinary projects as the cyber security SME.
  7. Serving as the technical lead and escalation point for security queries.
  8. Researching and recommending the latest security best practices and solutions.
  9. Providing technical mentoring and knowledge transfer.
  10. Monitoring and responding to security platforms.
  11. Utilizing automation tools to improve efficiency.
  12. Involvement in the technical aspects of security technology deployment and vendor relations.
  13. Building strategic partnerships with vendors and evaluating emerging technologies.
  14. Driving continuous improvement to maintain ISO-27001 and Cyber Essentials accreditation.
  15. Ensuring compliance with the firm’s security policies and supporting external audits.
Key Technologies
  • Strong knowledge of the M365 security stack (Defender, Azure)
  • Vulnerability Management, Web Application Filtering, DLP, Cloudflare, Firewalls, VPN, PKI, DNS, Email Gateways, Security Audits, ISO27001, Cyber Essentials
Desirable Technologies
  • Azure DevOps, Mitre Attack Framework, Networking Principles, ITIL, Scripting (PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI, Yaml), Microsoft OS, Exchange Online
Qualifications
  • Degree in IT or relevant experience.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Cybersecurity Architect, MCSE, MCSA, Security+, Network+, Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE are advantageous but not essential.
