Job summary

Tencent in London is seeking a Cyber Security Intern to join the Security Engineering team. You will gain hands-on experience across SOC, cloud security, vulnerability management, incident response and security engineering.

Working with Senior Security Engineers, you will learn to use Microsoft 365, firewalls, cloud services and endpoint protection while helping protect Tencent's business systems and data.

Qualifications

• Pursuing cybersecurity or related degree.
• Interest in cloud security and enterprise IT.
• Basic networking understanding.
• Familiar with Windows and M365.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a team.
• Eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Tier 1 SOC alert triage, investigation and escalation.
• Investigate security incidents from various sources.
• Perform log analysis across SIEM and cloud platforms.
• Assist in vulnerability management and remediation coordination.
• Support security reviews and risk assessments for initiatives.
• Support implementation and testing of security controls.
• Participate in security exercises to validate controls.
• Research emerging threats and improve security awareness.
• Document incidents and recommendations.
• Support compliance initiatives aligned with standards.
• Contribute to SOC process improvements.
