Job summary

Southwark Council is recruiting a Head of Cyber Security and Information Governance to build and lead a new specialist team within the Digital and Resident Experience service in London. You will shape the cyber security strategy and incident response capability to protect residents and services.

You will oversee outsourced SOC, vulnerability management and information governance, embedding a security-first culture aligned with council priorities and community outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience building and leading cyber security functions in large organisations.
• Strong knowledge of security operations, vulnerability management and compliance frameworks (PSN, Cyber Essentials, PCI DSS, UK GDPR).
• Proven track record in incident response and working with external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a new specialist cyber security team within Southwark's Digital and Resident Experience service.
• Develop and own cyber security strategy, roadmap and improvement plans.
• Direct and assure outsourced SOC and govern vulnerability management.
• Own cyber incident response plans and lead security incident responses.
• Lead security compliance and information governance across the council.
