Job summary

Royal Mail Group is seeking a Cyber Engineering Manager in London or Sheffield with a hybrid in-office pattern (3 days on site). You will lead a team of six security engineers, set strategy for security tooling, and partner with architecture and operations to strengthen defenses across a large technology estate.

The role focuses on leadership over hands-on work, shaping security strategy, and delivering business value through improved cyber capabilities and automation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and developing technical cyber security teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Solid understanding of Cyber Security Engineering, Security Operations and Security Architecture.
• Experience with enterprise security tooling and platforms.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Defender, Sentinel and Zscaler.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and inspire a team of six Cyber Security Engineers.
• Set the direction for Cyber Security Engineering across a large and complex technology estate.
• Partner with Cyber Architecture to ensure security solutions align with wider technology strategy.
• Oversee ongoing development and optimization of security platforms.
• Drive automation, efficiency and continuous improvement across the cyber function.
• Maximise value from existing and future security tooling and investments.
• Manage third-party suppliers and technology partners.
