Job summary

Proactive Appointments Ltd. is recruiting a Cyber Security Engineer in Northampton to strengthen security across identity, endpoints, cloud and business applications.

You will embed security practices and collaborate with IT operations, development and platform teams to protect a growing organisation. You will coordinate vulnerability management, incident response, and reporting while helping shape security standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cybersecurity or related technical role.
• Experience securing IAM, MFA, conditional access and privileged access.
• Experience securing Windows endpoints with modern device management.
• Experience with endpoint detection/response or similar security tech.
• Experience assessing and coordinating remediation of vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge of cloud security concepts (identity, networking, logging, data protection).
• Ability to write clear technical documentation and risk summaries.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve security controls across identity, endpoint, cloud and business applications.
• Review authentication, access and administrative privileges; promote least privilege and zero-trust.
• Improve endpoint security, device compliance and secure configurations.
• Work with IT operations to address security weaknesses in workplace tech and infrastructure.
• Review cloud services and hosted workloads for security risks and access control weaknesses.
• Support development and platform teams in embedding security into designs and delivery.
• Operate and improve vulnerability and exposure-management processes.
• Coordinate remediation with system owners and verify actions are effective.
• Investigate security alerts and incidents with internal and external teams.
• Maintain incident-response procedures and supporting documentation.
• Participate in exercises and post-incident reviews to drive improvements.
• Review security of SaaS apps, third-party integrations and data sharing.
• Produce clear reporting on risks, incidents and remediation progress.
• Support audits and compliance activities.
• Develop technical security standards and procedures.
