Job summary

Housing Association is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to design, implement and maintain cyber security capabilities. You will work across Microsoft security technologies, IAM, vulnerability management, incident response and cloud security, providing security guidance on projects and embedding security by design.

Qualifications

• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent security experience.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 security technologies and Defender.
• Knowledge of SIEM/SOAR, vulnerability management and incident response.
• Understanding of cloud security and network security principles.
• Experience supporting security assessments, audits and penetration testing.
• Knowledge of security frameworks including NIST and Cyber Essentials.
• Understanding of ITIL processes, particularly Incident, Change and Problem Management.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain cyber security solutions and capabilities.
• Administer and monitor Microsoft 365 security technologies, including Intune, Entra ID, Defender, Purview, Exchange Online, SharePoint and Teams.
• Support identity and access management, vulnerability management and security monitoring.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, including SIEM/SOAR investigations and advanced threat hunting.
• Support security reviews, audits and annual penetration testing.
• Identify vulnerabilities, risks and opportunities to improve the organisation's security posture.
• Provide security advice to IT projects, ensuring security is embedded into solution design and technology decisions.
• Support and maintain alignment with Cyber Essentials Plus.
• Contribute to information security policies, procedures and standards.
• Work with internal teams and external partners to deliver security improvements.
• Keep up to date with emerging cyber security threats, vulnerabilities and industry best practice.
