Job summary

Nicoll Curtin is recruiting for an AWS Cloud Security Engineer in Manchester. The role is hybrid with 3 days on-site, focused on protecting cloud environments supporting emergency services and public safety operations.

You will own security incidents, review AWS configurations, and work with a global team to strengthen security operations while supporting local IT needs in the Manchester office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Cyber Security, SecOps or Cloud Security.
• Experience in responding to security incidents.
• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive security incidents across cloud infra, networks, endpoints, and applications
• Review and improve AWS security configurations and cloud controls
• Collaborate with global cybersecurity team to strengthen security operations
• Support SIEM, endpoint protection, and threat detection activities
• Assist with local IT support and technical issues within Manchester office
• Participate in an on‑call rota for critical security incidents
• Contribute to security hardening, risk reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives

One of our clients, a leading emergency response technology firm, is seeking an AWS Cloud Security Engineer to join its growing cybersecurity team.

This is a hands‑on security role responsible for protecting cloud environments that support critical emergency services and public safety operations. You'll need to be an expert in AWS security environments, manage security incidents, and IAM while acting as the primary on‑site security presence in Manchester.

Responsibilities:

• Own and drive security incidents across cloud infrastructure, networks, endpoints, and applications

• Work closely with a global cybersecurity team to strengthen security operations
• Support SIEM, endpoint protection, and threat detection activities
• Assist with local IT support and technical issues within the Manchester office

Experience:

• Familiarity with SIEM, endpoint security, and threat detection tools
• Experience working within regulated or security-sensitive environments is advantageous
• Ability to obtain and maintain SC and NPPV3 security clearance
