Job summary

RTX in Gloucester is inviting applications for a Cyber Security Architect track starting as a Cyber Security Engineer. The role offers progression into security architecture while you collaborate with experienced engineers to design secure systems.

The position requires strong fundamentals in networking, Windows/Linux, IAM, and cloud concepts, plus exposure to SIEM/EDR tooling. A hybrid work model is available, with on-site collaboration at least three days per week.

Qualifications

• Experience in cyber security, infrastructure, or systems engineering.
• Background in roles such as Security Engineer, Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, or SOC Analyst with strong technical depth.
• Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, segmentation), operating systems (Windows/Linux), identity and access management concepts, and cloud fundamentals.
• Exposure to security tooling (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR).
• Strong understanding of core security principles: defence in depth, least privilege, zero trust.
