Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer in Gloucester with a clear pathway to a Cyber Security Architect role. You will grow through mentorship and work alongside security architects and engineers in a hybrid on-site environment.

The role emphasizes a solid technical base in networking, Windows/Linux, IAM and cloud fundamentals, with exposure to SIEM/EDR tools. No prior architecture experience is required, offering a defined security-architecture pathway.

Qualifications

• Experience in cyber security, infrastructure or systems engineering.
• Background in roles such as Security Engineer, Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, SOC Analyst with strong technical depth.
• Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, segmentation), operating systems (Windows/Linux), identity and access management concepts and cloud fundamentals
• Exposure to security tooling such as SIEM, IDS/IPS and EDR
• Strong understanding of core security principles such as defence in depth, least privilege and zero‑trust concepts
• Experience designing and implementing secure systems to meet HMG security requirements
• Experience managing complex technology estates with differing risk profiles

Role and Responsibilities

Essential Experience

• Experience in cyber security, infrastructure or systems engineering
