Job summary

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service is recruiting an ICT Cyber Security Apprentice based at Joint Headquarters in Nottingham. The role is a 24-month fixed-term apprenticeship, full-time 37 hours per week with a dedicated apprenticeship course and Agile/flexible working opportunities.

You will gain hands-on experience delivering secure ICT support, monitoring, and threat mitigation while learning ITIL principles and security best practices. Closing date 23 September 2026.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or better.
• Some experience with security related technologies and ICT systems.
• Interest in ITIL and ITSM concepts.
• Experience with fault finding across hardware and software.

Responsibilities

• Provide first and second-line ICT support as part of the Security Team.
• Assist in incident handling, service requests and documentation.
• Escalate complex issues to ICT Security Manager when needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of ICT assets, incidents, and changes.
• Ensure SLAs and KPIs are met and support service improvements.
• Support installation, configuration, and maintenance of ICT systems.
