Job description

About The Role

We’re looking for a motivated and analytical Cyber Operations and Reporting Analyst to join our Technology team at Southern Housing.

At Southern Housing, we’re committed to creating communities where everyone has a safe home in a place they’re proud to live. Protecting our information, systems and services is essential to achieving that, and this role will play a key part in strengthening our cyber resilience and security assurance across the organisation.

Reporting to the Cyber Security leadership team, you'll be responsible for monitoring, analysing and reporting on cyber security activities, risks, controls and compliance across Southern Housing. You'll work closely with colleagues across Technology, Enterprise Risk, Internal Audit and senior stakeholders to provide meaningful security insight, support decision‑making and help maintain a strong cyber security posture.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Producing insightful cyber security reports and dashboards for a range of audiences, including senior leadership and Board‑level stakeholders.
  • Monitoring security programmes, audit actions and compliance activities, ensuring key actions are tracked through to completion.
  • Supporting security investigations, threat monitoring and incident response activity when required.
  • Researching emerging cyber threats, industry trends and best practice to help inform continuous improvement and strengthen organisational resilience.
  • Working collaboratively with Technology teams to improve processes, automate activities and maintain accurate security documentation, systems and controls.

You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance reporting, strengthen governance processes, improve data quality and increase the effectiveness of our cyber security controls and assurance activities.

This role is based from our Farringdon office, with a hybrid working arrangement. You'll be expected to attend the office at least two days per week.

About you

We're looking for someone who is curious, proactive and highly organised, with a passion for cyber security and a desire to make a positive impact. You'll enjoy turning complex information into meaningful insights, collaborating with colleagues across different teams and helping the organisation make informed decisions about security and risk.

Whether you're already working within cyber security reporting and assurance or looking to take the next step in your technology or information security career, we'd love to hear from you if you can demonstrate the skills, knowledge and enthusiasm to succeed in the role.

You’ll bring:

Relevant experience: experience within cyber security, information security, technology operations, risk, governance, compliance or a related analytical role. Experience producing reports for senior stakeholders would be advantageous.

Skills and knowledge: an understanding of cyber security principles, security governance, audit processes, risk management and industry best practice. Knowledge of security tooling and emerging cyber threats would be beneficial.

Communication skills: the ability to present complex information clearly and confidently to a range of audiences, including technical teams, business stakeholders and senior leaders.

Problem‑solving ability: strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to investigate issues, identify solutions and make informed recommendations.

Organisation and prioritisation: able to manage multiple priorities, monitor actions effectively and maintain attention to detail in a fast‑moving environment.

Teamwork: a collaborative approach with the ability to build positive working relationships across teams and support shared objectives.

Adaptability: comfortable working within an evolving technology environment and responding positively to changing priorities and emerging security risks.

Why join us?

At Southern Housing, you'll have the opportunity to work on meaningful challenges that directly contribute to protecting services relied upon by thousands of residents. You'll be supported to develop your career, expand your cyber security expertise and build experience across a broad range of technologies, risks and business activities.

This role is subject to a qualification requirement under the Conduct & Competency Standard for Social Housing. All candidates will need to either hold this qualification or be willing to commence this qualification within the first nine months of joining Southern Housing.
