Job summary

Freight Personnel is seeking a Freight Forwarding Customs Manager for our Dagenham office. The role leads a team of four customs operators and reports to the Managing Director.

You will oversee customs entries, VAT and duties, arrange imports/exports, and respond to HMRC inquiries. Experience with Sequoia and strong leadership are essential.

The ideal candidate has at least five years in customs processes and excellent communication, able to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• Must be fully conversant with the full customs process.
• Experience leading/supervising a team of customs operators.
• Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with HMRC.

Our client is a well-established international freight forwarder they are now looking for an experienced Freight Forwarding Customs Manager based office in Dagenham
Well established, my client handles export and import shipping requirements throughout Europe and Worldwide. Their reputation is based on their caring, customer-focused service and competitive pricing.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director. The successful Customs Manager would be responsible for leading a team of 4 customs operators.

Main responsibilities are

* Overseeing correct processes are followed by the team.
* Issuing: Customs entries and T forms for export trailers.
* Arranging: Customs clearance for import trailers.
* Managing VAT / Duties.
* Answering queries from HMRC.
* Mentoring and training operators where needed.

Required Skills:

* Candidate must be fully conversant will the full customs process.
* Have experience of using Sequoia
* Have experience in dealing with HMRC.
* Be experienced in leading / supervising a team.
* Candidate must be approachable and be a good communicator.

We are looking for a freight customs manager who is enthusiastic and driven. Someone who can workas part of a team as well as on their own initiative.

The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience in customs processes.

Salary & Benefits
* Basic Salary: £45,000- £55,000 per annum
* Holiday: 25 days + 8 BH
