  • Müller Milk & Ingredients: Produces branded and private label dairy products, with a network of dairies and depots servicing nationwide.
  • Müller Yogurt & Desserts: The UK’s leading yogurt manufacturer, responsible for major brands like Müller Corner, Müllerlight, Müller Bliss, Müller Rice, FRijj, and Müller Kefir Smoothie, and supplies private label yogurt from a state-of-the-art facility.

We’re recruiting a Customs Administrator for a fixed term of 15 months at our Market Drayton head office. Your role will involve collating data, verifying information, liaising with colleagues and third parties to ensure timely submission of import and export customs declarations, and managing daily operational and administrative tasks to support the Customs Team, which provides 7-day coverage.

Please note: Weekly hours are 40, Monday to Friday, with shifts from 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, or 9am-5pm on a rota basis, with occasional Saturdays. Hybrid working (3 days on site) will be available post-training.

Key Responsibilities:
Customs Compliance - Exports
  • Liaise with Culina to prepare export documentation and health certificates.
  • Prepare export instructions and pro forma invoices.
  • Apply for export health certificates to ensure supply continuity.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, vets, hauliers, and authorities for documentation accuracy and timelines.
  • Monitor export email inbox, resolve queries, and escalate as needed.
  • Support shipment of samples, including communication, booking, and paperwork.
  • Complete supplementary declarations on TSS portal monthly.
  • Assist in training new team members and support senior colleagues with ad hoc tasks.
Customs Compliance – Imports
  • Review supplier info and prepare import instructions.
  • Monitor deliveries, coordinate with relevant teams to prevent delays.
  • Manage customs email inquiries and escalate issues.
  • Provide clearance info to parcel operators.
  • Handle paperwork for re-exports of returned or rejected goods.
  • Support data collection and process monitoring, including UK Global Tariff updates.
Other Tasks
  • Verify purchase invoices, add GL codes, and process invoices.
  • Allocate commodity codes, support new team members, and document processes for audits.
Skills & Experience:
  • 1-2 years in a customs environment.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Training provided.
  • Knowledge of tax legislation updates.
  • High accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
