Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a Customs Analyst to support import and export activities, ensuring shipments are compliant with customs regulations, company policies, and international trade requirements.

You will handle documentation, tariff classifications, risk management, and work with internal teams and brokers to maintain accurate records and timely clearance across global operations.

Qualifications

  • Essential Experience in customs, logistics, or international trade.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good understanding of import/export processes including Inward Processing Relief (IPR).
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders (internal teams and external brokers).
  • Confident working with data and documentation.
  • Desirable Knowledge of UK customs regulations and trade compliance.
  • Experience with tariff classification and origin rules.
  • Familiarity with ERP (ideally IFS).
  • Familiarity with customs management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure shipments comply with applicable customs regulations and company procedures.
  • Prepare and review customs documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure correct tariff classifications are assigned to goods.
  • Maintain accurate records for all customs transactions for audit.
  • Work with internal teams and customs brokers to provide clear instructions for shipments.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure timely clearance and minimize delays.
  • Support resolution of customs queries, discrepancies, or delays.
  • Assist with post-entry reviews and corrections where required.
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on customs and trade compliance requirements.
  • Stay up to date with changes in customs regulations and communicate impacts to the business.
  • Support adherence to export controls, licensing requirements, and sanctions regulations.
  • Identify potential compliance risks and escape issues where required.
  • Support internal and external audits related to customs compliance.
  • Participate in periodic reviews of customs entries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure all products have correct classification and supporting data within business systems.
  • Support requests for tariff classifications where missing or unclear.
  • Contribute to improving customs procedures and compliance processes.
  • Support training and awareness across the business on customs requirements.

Job Description

We are looking for a Customs Analyst to support import and export activities by ensuring all shipments are compliant with customs regulations, company policies, and international trade requirements. Customs Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure all import and export shipments are compliant with applicable customs regulations and company procedures.
  • Prepare and review customs documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure correct commodity codes (tariff classifications) are assigned to all goods.
  • Maintain accurate records for all customs transactions in line with audit requirements.
  • Work with internal teams and customs brokers to provide clear and compliant instructions for shipments.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure timely clearance and minimise delays.
  • Support resolution of customs queries, discrepancies, or delays.
