Full, paid training provided. You can apply for this role using your mobile device (no CV needed!).

You must be aged 18 or over to be a customer team member at Co-op, as it requires working before 6am or after 10pm.

About the role:

We’re looking for Customer Team Members to join our team at Co-op. When you join Co-op, you’ll get amazing benefits including 31 days holiday, a pension with up to 10% Co-op contribution, access to virtual healthcare services for you and your family, and a 30% discount on all Co-op products in our stores.

As a Customer Team Member, you’ll be part of a friendly team dedicated to helping our customers. You’ll provide great service on the tills and the shop floor, and perform tasks like re-stocking shelves and cleaning spillages.

At Co-op, we focus on making things fairer for our members and communities, and we promise to take care of you. You’ll receive support for your physical, mental, and financial wellbeing, along with policies to help through life events such as bereavement, pregnancy loss, fertility treatment, and menopause.

What you'll do:
  1. Provide friendly and thoughtful service—responding to queries, championing Co-op products and Membership, and delivering a great shopping experience.
  2. Support your store colleagues to solve problems for customers and members, making everyone's day better.
  3. Ensure the store is safe and legal—keeping shelves stocked, and prices, dates, and temperatures accurate.
  4. Help introduce new products and services—making changes feel natural and sharing experiences with colleagues.
  5. Support your local community—getting involved in activities and events.
This job would suit people who have:
  1. A genuine care for the needs of customers and members.
  2. Great people skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
  3. A positive approach to change and problem solving.
  4. The flexibility to work a range of different shifts.
Why Co-op?
  1. 30% discount on all Co-op products in-store plus 10% discounts on all other brands.
  2. A pension scheme with up to 10% employer contributions.
  3. Wagestream— a money management app giving you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it.
  4. 31 days of holiday (including bank holidays, pro rata for part-time colleagues).
  5. Virtual healthcare services for you and your family, including GP appointments, eye care, mental health support, and nutrition and fitness consultations.
  6. 24/7 employee assistance service.
  7. Full, paid training and dedicated support for your personal development and career progression.
  8. Rotas shared three weeks in advance and accessible on your phone.
  9. Cycle-to-work scheme.
Building an inclusive workplace:

We want to build diverse teams and welcome applications from everyone. We aim for our stores to be inclusive environments where colleagues can reach their full potential. We celebrate our differences and recognize the importance of reflecting the communities we serve.
