We’re looking for Customer Team Members to join our team at Co-op. When you join Co-op, you’ll get amazing benefits including 31 days holiday, a pension with up to 10% Co-op contribution, access to virtual healthcare services for you and your family, and a 30% discount on all Co-op products in our stores.

As a Customer Team Member, you’ll be part of a friendly team that’s dedicated to helping our customers. We’ll look to you to provide them with great service on the tills and the shop floor, while also performing a wide range of other tasks around the store like re-stocking shelves and cleaning up spillages.

At Co-op, we do things a different way. For over 175 years we’ve focused on making things fairer for our members and their communities, and as a colleague we promise to take care of you. You’ll get support for your physical, mental, and financial wellbeing, as well as market-leading policies to help you through life events from bereavement and pregnancy loss to fertility treatment and menopause.

What you'll do
  1. Provide friendly and thoughtful service – respond to queries, promote Co-op products and Membership, and deliver a great shopping experience.
  2. Work collaboratively to support your store colleagues in solving problems for customers and members.
  3. Ensure the store is safe and compliant – keep shelves stocked, and verify prices, dates, and temperatures.
  4. Assist in introducing new products and services – share experiences with colleagues to facilitate learning.
  5. Support your local community – participate in activities and events.
This job would suit people who have
  1. A genuine care for the needs of customers and members.
  2. Great people skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
  3. A positive approach to change and problem solving.
  4. The flexibility to work a range of different shifts.
Why Co-op?
  1. 30% discount on all Co-op products in-store plus 10% discounts on all other brands.
  2. A pension scheme with up to 10% employer contributions.
  3. Wagestream – a money management app giving you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it.
  4. 31 days of holiday (including bank holidays, pro-rata for part-time colleagues).
  5. Virtual healthcare services for you and your family, including access to GP appointments, eye care, mental health support, and nutrition and fitness consultations.
  6. 24/7 employee assistance service.
  7. Full, paid training and dedicated support for your personal development and career progression.
  8. Rotas shared three weeks in advance and accessible on your phone.
  9. Cycle-to-work scheme.
