Job summary

Co-op Group is seeking a Customer Team Leader in Harrogate to oversee daily store operations and guide a small team. You will lead shifts, ensure smooth merchandising, and provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires flexibility for varied shifts, including store openings and closings, with duties that may include post office or bakery support and helping online services and home delivery drivers. A positive, community-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or team management is desirable.
• Comfortable leading a small team and working on shop floor and tills.
• Ability to work varied shifts including early mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.

Job description

Pay: £14.48 per hour

Contract: 16 hours per week + regular overtime, permanent contract, part time

Working pattern: varied shifts including early mornings (store opening), afternoons, late evenings (store closing) including at least 1 weekend shift, to be discussed at interview

As a Customer Team Leader, you'll lead a small team in a fast-paced Co-op store, helping to deliver essential services to your community. Depending on your store this could involve you working in our post office or bakery or supporting online services and our home delivery drivers. Whatever the day brings, you'll play a key role in making life easier for our customers.

What you'll do

• Own the day-to-day running of the store by leading the team on your shift
• Motivate, coach, and support your team to deliver great service and efficient operations
• Work hands-on on the shop floor and tills, supporting daily operations and setting the pace for a team of Customer Team Members
• Support store performance through merchandising, stock accuracy, and HR processes
• Champion Co-op through community engagement and membership growth
