Job description

We are looking for Customer Team Leaders to join our team at Co-op. As a Customer Team Leader, you’ll be part of a friendly team that’s dedicated to helping our customers. You’ll help lead the store team—coaching and supervising our Customer Team Members and deputising for the Store Manager—while also delivering great customer service and performing a wide range of tasks around the store like re-stocking shelves and cleaning up spillages.

Working pattern: varied shifts including early mornings (store opening), afternoons, late evenings (store closing), and weekends, to be discussed at interview. This role will also include working in our in-store bakery. Full, paid training provided. You can apply for this role using your mobile device (no CV needed!).

Requirements include being aged 18 or over to be a customer team leader, as you’ll need to authorise age-related sales.

What you’ll do
  1. Provide friendly and thoughtful service—working in our in-store bakery, managing the store, and handling challenging situations.
  2. Develop your team's capabilities through coaching and training, fostering an inclusive culture where everyone's voice is valued and respected.
  3. Ensure the store remains safe, legal, and fully operational.
  4. Manage diligence checks and stock accuracy to enhance the shopping experience.
  5. Support your store manager by deputising when they’re not working and assisting with HR processes.
  6. Lead the introduction of new products and services, working closely with your team to implement change and gather feedback.
  7. Build relationships and participate in your local community, supporting the delivery of the Co-op community plan.
