Residential Services at the University of Southampton offer accommodation to over 7,000 students annually. Join our team during an exciting period of development, as we expand our portfolio of over 6,600 rooms, initiate new refurbishment plans, and enhance our halls to improve the student experience.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to deliver outstanding service to students, residents, and other customers. The role requires maintaining composure under pressure and demonstrating a commitment to high-quality customer service at every interaction. You will support ongoing development and improvement projects in our customer-facing areas and assist the supervisory team at Mayflower Halls of Residence, both within and outside of reception.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a busy, diverse customer service environment. They should be approachable, organized, and possess excellent communication skills. Confidence in teamwork and customer service skills from any industry are advantageous. Experience with multiple computer systems is essential, as the department uses various systems to deliver services.
This role is advertised for 36 hours per week, on a Monday-Friday rota, with shifts between 8am and 8pm, typically 8am-4pm or 12pm-8pm. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required during peak times such as student arrivals, departures, open days, etc. The primary site is Mayflower Halls, with potential coverage at other sites including Small Halls - Gateley and Highfield Hall in Southampton, and Erasmus Park in Winchester.
