DPD UK is seeking a Customer Services Advisor to join our friendly team in York. This role involves assisting both internal and external customers with parcel deliveries, ensuring a seamless experience.

The ideal candidate has substantial customer service experience and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities include answering queries, problem-solving delivery issues, and maintaining high standards of service.

The position grants a salary of £24,400 per annum, with a contract lasting 6 months and typical work hours from 08:30 to 17:00.

Job Description

Our Site Manager is looking to recruit an experienced and reliable Customer Services Advisor to strengthen our dedicated and friendly customer services team, who put our customers at the heart of everything they do.

Responsibilities

In this role you will help both internal and external customers with the collection or delivery of their parcels.

You will work closely with our Drivers, Shift Managers and Operations Managers to identify issues, proactively problem‑solve and take accountability and ownership for resolving these issues.

You’ll also be focussed on:

• Answer any queries regarding a delivery status, and supply Proof of Delivery (POD)
• Carry out thorough investigations for missing parcels and resolve delivery disputes

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a fast‑paced customer service environment
• Strong communication skills with a confident telephone manner and the ability to build quick rapport with customers
• Polite and professional at all times, with a willingness to go the ‘extra mile’ to exceed customer expectations
• Excellent administration skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes
• High self‑motivation and initiative to effectively problem‑solve

Location and Working Hours

Location: DPD York, Glaisdale Rd, Northminster Business Park, YO26 6QU

Days of Work: Monday to Friday

Hours of Work: 08:30 – 17:00 or 09:00 – 17:30 (Occasional weekends)

Contract: FTC 6 months – 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £24,400 per annum
