Job summary

Travis Perkins in Saltash is seeking a Sales Assistant to welcome customers, answer questions, and recommend products from our building materials range. You’ll be active in the yard, assist with loading and deliveries, and support branch operations with a can-do attitude.

You’ll work Monday to Friday with alternate Saturday mornings, enjoying sociable daytime hours and development opportunities, including pension benefits and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Physically able to move heavy stock in yard and warehouse.
• Deliver best-in-class sales experiences with positive interactions.
• Self-motivated, multi-tasker, and organized in fast-paced environments.
• Willing to learn building materials and tools on the job.
• Team player ready to support colleagues across the branch.

Responsibilities

• Build strong customer relationships in person and by phone.
• Maintain high safety and service standards across the branch.
• Promote additional products across our range to meet customer needs.
• Process orders, load/unload vehicles, and book deliveries accurately.

• Can you self-motivate, multi-task and stay organised in adaptable, fast-paced environments?
• You don’t need to be an expert in building materials and tooling, we’ll support you to learn this on the job!
• Are you a team player who is comfortable to step outside of your role to support colleagues across the wider branch?
