Job summary

Asda Stores Ltd seeks a Customer Manager in Workington to lead the store’s service, with responsibility for guest experience from car park to checkout. You’ll drive strategy on the shop floor, coach teams, and ensure availability and value messaging across the customer journey.

You will engage customers, act on feedback, and partner with external teams to maintain high standards. This role emphasizes leadership, resilience, and a customer-first mindset in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager in a retail environment.
• Operational knowledge on retail environment and customer service.
• Experience developing teams and managing change through leadership and building resilience.
• Strong customer service focus and positive mindset.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Be the ambassador for Asda and lead store service across areas from front to back office.
• Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring best-in-town customer experience and strong availability standards.
• Lead and coach teams to improve routines, processes and sales with heart and pride.
• Respond to customer feedback and implement effective action plans.

You will be the eyes and ears of our customers, act on feedback and hold regular customer listening groups whilst liaising with external partners to ensure they’re also meeting standards and expectations.

• Drive strategy into action: Constant presence on the shopfloor walking through the eyes of the customers and validating the value message by ensuring our customer path is the best in town whilst delivering great availability standards, key metrics and KRAs through routine and processes.
• Lead with impact: Engaging and coaching your team to constantly improve routine and process whilst creating a culture of selling with personality, driving pick accuracy and serving our customers with heart and pride to make our service legendary.
• Results-focused: Challenging the teams to price discrepancies are always investigated and resolved at pace.
• Passion about CSI and react to customer feedback to create and execute effective action plans.
• Talent Development: Listen with empathy, driving resilience and encourage ownership, focus and passion for the business by bringing the “Asdaness” to work every day and supporting the development of the team and creating an environment where people feel valued, trusted, and motivated to step up.
