Job summary

Leonardo UK Basildon is seeking an experienced customer-facing engineer to support the Integrated Sensing & Protection (ISP) Line of Business. You will act as the primary technical liaison between customers and Leonardo’s Precision Guidance teams, guiding integration, verification and trials of SAL Seeker and Compact Seeker products.

The role involves close collaboration with platform integrators, weapon system manufacturers, and Leonardo engineering teams, with frequent UK and international

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience in integration, verification and testing of defence or aerospace systems.
• Ability to analyse complex technical problems and communicate solutions.
• Experience working directly with customers and technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the UK and internationally and to obtain UK security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical focal point for customers integrating Leonardo Precision Guidance products (SAL Seeker, Compact Seeker).
• Provide guidance during system integration, verification, validation and acceptance activities.
• Advise customers on seeker performance, interfaces, environmental considerations and operational capabilities.
• Support resolution of technical issues during integration, testing and deployment.
• Travel domestically and internationally to support trials, demonstrations and in-service activities.
