Job summary

DHL Express in Reading is seeking an Operations Agent to be the first point of contact for customers and visitors at our Service Centre. This permanent, Monday–Friday role supports day-to-day operations, resolves frontline queries and provides administrative assistance to keep services running smoothly.

You will handle calls, welcome visitors, use multiple systems, and contribute to KPI-driven performance while upholding safety and security standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
• Good IT skills and confidence working across multiple systems and applications.
• Good analytical, influencing and decision-making capability.
• Administrative experience is preferred.
• Experience in express logistics is advantageous.
• 2–3 years of operational processing experience is ideal.
• Knowledge and understanding of Dangerous Goods is preferred.
• GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Act as a first point of contact for internal and external customers contacting or visiting the Service Centre.
• Respond professionally to customer queries and provide a high standard of service.
• Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, helping customers and colleagues resolve queries.
• Act as Service Centre receptionist when required, ensuring visitors are welcomed and managed.
