Job summary

A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd’s SPAR Playing Place is seeking a Customer Team Member aged 18+. This temporary role covers 5-hour shifts on a rota basis, with more hours available for cover. You’ll greet customers, help them find items, process tills, and highlight offers to support store performance.

You’ll work as part of a friendly team in a fast-paced convenience environment, ensuring excellent service and adherence to policies with opportunities for growth within the business.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Reliably follows instructions with attention to detail.
• Some understanding of legislative responsibilities in a retail environment.
• Ability to contribute ideas for delivering excellent customer service.
• Experience with checking age-restricted items (Challenge 25) is desirable.
• Keen and enthusiastic team member, capable of working independently.
• Cash handling experience is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Answer inquiries and help customers locate items.
• Process purchases at the till accurately and efficiently.
• Upsell products and highlight multi-buy offers to maximise sales.
• Assist with stock, pricing, displays and maintaining store standards.
