Job summary

East Midlands Railway (EMR) is looking for a Customer Ambassador to join our Sheffield station team on a fixed term contract. You will greet customers, provide help and information, answer questions and guide travellers throughout their journey, creating a friendly, safe environment.

No rail experience required; previous customer-facing work is helpful. The role is 35 hours per week, five days across Sunday to Saturday, with 10% unsocial shift allowance and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• No railway experience required; previous customer-facing work is advantageous but not essential.
• What matters is attitude and approach to customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide live train service and disruption information.
• Assist customers with journey planning and directions.
• Offer guidance on tickets, delays, and Delay Repay.
• Support passengers with rail replacement services and wayfinding.
• Engage proactively with customers to provide help and reassurance.
