Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking an Installation Specialist to join our Customer Delivery Hubs. You will join a 2-person crew, installing products at customers' homes and demonstrating operation after installation.

The role involves heavy lifting and a 4-day week, with early starts on a 5-week rota from Monday to Saturday. You must have installation experience, a valid Manual C1 licence (6 point max), DCPC, Tachograph card, and previous 7.5-tonne vehicle experience.

Qualifications

• Previous installation experience is required for this role.
• Manual C1 UK driving licence with a maximum of 6 points.
• DCPC or Driver Qualification Card required by day one.
• Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Start at the delivery hub and head out on a route to deliver items.
• Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
• Load deliveries with the warehouse team and ensure smooth handovers.
• Install products and demonstrate operation to customers after fitting.
• Keep up to date with new products and technologies to perform at your best.
• Maintain a safe working environment and handle situations professionally.

About The Role

As one of our Installation Specialists based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you'll have the unique opportunity of bringing our distinctive John Lewis service right to our customers' doors and install the products they love into their homes (such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems and TV sets) as part of a 2-person delivery crew, driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.

About The Role

As one of our Installation Specialists based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you'll have the unique opportunity of bringing our distinctive John Lewis service right to our customers' doors and install the products they love into their homes (such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems and TV sets) as part of a 2-person delivery crew, driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.

Due to its nature, you need to be 18 years or older to work in this role.

Schedule Pattern: 4 days per week, 5 week rota. Monday-Saturday 06:00-17:00.

Salary Up To £36,932.11per Annum, Depending On Experience

Key Responsibilities

Your day will see you start at the delivery hub where you are based before heading out on a route. Your responsibilities will include:

• Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service is your number one priority.
• Load up your lorry with the day's deliveries working alongside the warehouse team.
• Showing great respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handling unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for your customers.
• Installing products efficiently and quickly for our customers and demonstrating how they work once installed.
• Keeping up to date with new products and technologies to ensure you perform your role at your best.
• Maintaining a safe working environment

Please note this role involves heavy lifting: You will spend a lot of time delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.

Essential skills/experience you'll need:

Previous experience of installation is required for this role and we'll assist in topping up your knowledge with our very own installer accreditation. Other required skills and experience include:

• Manual C1 UK driving licence (with a maximum of 6 points)
• DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) or Driver Qualification Card by the first day in the role.
• Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
• Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and in person.
• Good understanding of technology.

Desirable skills/experience you can bring:

• Installation and disconnection of white goods.
• TV installation.
• Assembly of a flat pack.
