Job summary

John Lewis Partnership in the United Kingdom is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver to bring Waitrose produce and service directly to customers’ doors. You’ll support shop teams with daily tasks when not on the road, ensuring safe, timely deliveries in a friendly, Partner-led environment.

This part-time role covers 15 hours across Friday and Saturday, 14:00–22:00. You’ll need a full valid UK B-category driving licence (≤6 points), excellent customer service and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Check delivery routes for the day.
• Load and prepare van for deliveries and group orders for direct delivery.
• Complete vehicle safety checks and maintain road compliance.
• Represent Waitrose as a brand ambassador with superior customer service.
• Assist customers with shopping and build rapport on delivery visits.
• Support the shop team with general tasks when not out on deliveries.

About the role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll be bringing the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service right to our customers’ doors. Actively playing out our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers. When you're not out on the road, you'll be back at the shop supporting the team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping. Contributing to the efficient and productive running of the shop in a friendly and welcoming team.

Due to its nature, you need to be 18-years or older to work in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Checking your delivery routes for the day.
• Loading and preparing your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
• Ensuring all of the appropriate vehicle safety checks are complete on your van, maintaining full road compliance, health and safety.
• Being an ambassador for the Waitrose brand while on the road with great customer service as your number one priority.
• Helping customers with their shopping and building a rapport with them based on trust and service.
• Supporting the wider shop team when required with general shopkeeping tasks.

Essential skills/experience you'll need

• Full valid B-Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6-points.
• Great customer service skills.
• Time management skills.
• Able to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g. lifting of crates, moving cages).
• Comfortable working independently with the ability to be self motivated and adaptable.
• IT literate.

Desirable skills/experience you may have

• Previous experience in a driving role and a knowledge of chilled vehicles would be welcomed.

Part time work of 15 hours across Friday and Saturday between the hours of 14:00- 22:00.
