Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £12.92 an hour; this increases to £14.05 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with options for fewer hours (minimum 12). We will schedule your shifts within your availability windows and provide 3 weeks’ notice. We support flexibility; if your available times closely match but are not exactly within our advertised windows, we’d still love to hear from you.

As the face of Tesco on the road, we deliver from Lands’ End to John O’Groats. Our Customer Delivery Drivers meet and talk to customers in their homes daily. This role is about more than driving: helping others, delivering great service with a smile.

This is hands-on, physical, and varied work. No two shifts are the same. You’ll feel like your own boss most of the day, delivering to customers, with support from managers and colleagues back at base.

You will be responsible for

• Ensuring the van and trays are clean and organized
• Keeping the yard tidy and picking up litter
• Washing trays as required
• Loading the van and checking its roadworthiness
• Communicating with customers about order changes and substitutions, offering refunds if needed
• Handling products/deliveries carefully
• Explaining substitution charges to customers
• Delivering within the scheduled time slots
• Calling customers before early arrivals and stores if late

You will need

• Build relationships with colleagues and create team spirit
• Be warm and welcoming with customers and colleagues
• Respond quickly to customer needs and embrace change
• Be energetic and driven to exceed expectations
• Share ideas for store improvements
• A valid UK/EU/EEA Driving license (Full or Automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points
