Sainsbury's is seeking a Customer Assistant on nights in Wakefield to help run the store smoothly with energy and teamwork. You will assist with stocking, housekeeping, and serving customers while adapting to a fast-paced, night-time environment.

The role emphasizes friendly, customer-focused service, willingness to work across store areas, and completing tasks safely using digital tools. Training will cover checkout duties and online order support.

Responsibilities

• Getting the store ready for the day ahead by filling shelves and working at a steady pace during the night.
• Keeping workspace tidy and aisles presentable for customers the next day.
• Collecting and moving stock from warehouse to shopfloor, including heavy items.
• Working across store areas, including chilled and frozen zones.
• Using equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete tasks accurately and safely.
• Helping in other areas when needed, including online orders or checkout duties after training.

What You'll Be Doing

• Getting the store ready for the day ahead by filling shelves, working at a good steady pace throughout the night and being prepared to work with a variety of product types
• Keeping your workspace tidy for other colleagues and making sure our aisles are clean, presentable and ready for our customers the next day
• Collecting and moving stock safely from the warehouse to the shopfloor, including heavy equipment and containers
• Working across different parts of the store, which could include chilled and frozen areas
• Using equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete your work accurately and safely
• Helping in other areas when needed, which could include picking online orders or serving customers at checkouts once you're trained and confident
