Job summary

Sainsbury's in Livingston is recruiting a Customer Assistant for night shifts to keep the store refreshed, stocked and ready for customers. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, energetic team environment, bring great service and a can-do attitude to every shift.

The role involves stocking shelves, assisting with online orders, checkout support when trained, and maintaining a safe, clean workspace. Night shift premiums and staff discounts are part of the rewards package, along with pension and life

Responsibilities

• Getting the store ready for the day ahead by filling shelves and maintaining a steady night-time pace.
• Keeping workspaces tidy and ensuring aisles are presentable for customers.
• Collecting and moving stock from warehouse to shopfloor, including heavy items when needed.
• Working across store areas, including chilled and frozen sections, as required.
• Using equipment and digital systems to complete tasks accurately and safely.
• Assisting in other areas and training to serve customers at checkouts when appropriate.

What You'll Be Doing

• Getting the store ready for the day ahead by filling shelves, working at a good steady pace throughout the night and being prepared to work with a variety of product types
• Keeping your workspace tidy for other colleagues and making sure our aisles are clean, presentable and ready for our customers the next day
• Collecting and moving stock safely from the warehouse to the shopfloor, including heavy equipment and containers
• Working across different parts of the store, which could include chilled and frozen areas
• Using equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete your work accurately and safely
• Helping in other areas when needed, which could include picking online orders or serving customers at checkouts once you're trained and confident
