Job summary

The Sainsbury's Thetford store is seeking a Customer Assistant on nights to help run the store smoothly in a fast-paced environment. The role involves night-time stocking, stock transfers from the warehouse, and ensuring clean, well-presented aisles for customers the next day.

You’ll work 27.75 hours per week on nights, under a fixed-term assignment, with a starting rate of £13.23 per hour. Right to work in the UK is required and the minimum age is 18 due to night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Getting the store ready for the day ahead by filling shelves, working at a steady pace during the night
• Keeping workspace tidy and ensuring aisles are clean for customers
• Moving stock from warehouse to shopfloor, including heavy equipment
• Working across different store areas (chilled and frozen)
• Using equipment and digital systems to complete tasks accurately and safely
• Assisting with online orders or serving customers at checkouts when trained

What you’ll be doing

• Getting the store ready for the day ahead by filling shelves, working at a good steady pace throughout the night and being prepared to work with a variety of product types
• Keeping your workspace tidy for other colleagues and making sure our aisles are clean, presentable and ready for our customers the next day
• Collecting and moving stock safely from the warehouse to the shopfloor, including heavy equipment and containers
• Working across different parts of the store, which could include chilled and frozen areas
• Using equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete your work accurately and safely

Helping in other areas when needed, which could include picking online orders or serving customers at checkouts once you’re trained and confident
