Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd is hiring a Customer Assistant for night shifts at the Penrith store. The role covers 16 hours per week with a fixed-term contract, focusing on stocking shelves, assisting customers, and maintaining store presentation in a fast-paced environment. Availability includes late-night hours and weekend work as outlined.

You’ll work across store areas, move stock from the warehouse, and learn to use digital tools while prioritising safety and customer service excellence.

What you’ll be doing

• Getting the store ready for the day ahead by filling shelves, working at a good steady pace throughout the night and being prepared to work with a variety of product types
• Keeping your workspace tidy for other colleagues and making sure our aisles are clean, presentable and ready for our customers the next day
• Collecting and moving stock safely from the warehouse to the shopfloor, including heavy equipment and containers
• Working across different parts of the store, which could include chilled and frozen areas
• Using equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete your work accurately and safely

Helping in other areas when needed, which could include picking online orders or serving customers at checkouts once you’re trained and confident
