Job summary

Sainsbury's in Reading is looking for a Customer Assistant to work nights. You’ll help prepare the store for the day, stock shelves, manage stock movements from warehouse, and serve customers with energy and a friendly manner.

Responsibilities

• Replenish shelves and keep pace during night shift.
• Keep workspace tidy and aisles clean for customers.
• Move stock safely from warehouse to shop floor.

• Use equipment and digital systems to complete tasks accurately.
• Assist with online orders or checkouts when trained.

What You'll Be Doing

• Getting the store ready for the day ahead by filling shelves, working at a good steady pace throughout the night and being prepared to work with a variety of product types
• Keeping your workspace tidy for other colleagues and making sure our aisles are clean, presentable and ready for our customers the next day
• Collecting and moving stock safely from the warehouse to the shopfloor, including heavy equipment and containers
• Working across different parts of the store, which could include chilled and frozen areas
• Using equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete your work accurately and safely
• Helping in other areas when needed, which could include picking online orders or serving customers at checkouts once you're trained and confident
