Job summary

Sainsbury’s Group is recruiting for a store night shift role based in the United Kingdom. You will work overnight to stock shelves, move goods and support store operations, with duties across various departments and occasional checkout duties after training.

The role requires resilience, attention to detail and a willingness to learn new digital tools. Night shifts come with a premium where applicable and there are permanent and fixed-term vacancies available.

Responsibilities

• Get the store ready for the day by stocking shelves and working at a steady pace overnight.
• Keep workspace tidy and aisles clean for customers the next day.
• Move stock from warehouse to shop floor, including heavy items.
• Work across different store areas, including chilled and frozen sections.
• Operate equipment, handsets and digital systems safely and accurately.
• Assist in other areas when needed, including online orders or checkout after training.

What you'll be doing

• Getting the store ready for the day ahead by filling shelves, working at a good steady pace throughout the night and being prepared to work with a variety of product types
• Keeping your workspace tidy for other colleagues and making sure our aisles are clean, presentable and ready for our customers the next day
• Collecting and moving stock safely from the warehouse to the shopfloor, including heavy equipment and containers
• Working across different parts of the store, which could include chilled and frozen areas
• Using equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete your work accurately and safely
• Helping in other areas when needed, which could include picking online orders or serving customers at checkouts once you're trained and confident, Nightshift premium - in addition to the advertised hourly rate, a further £2.45 nightshift premium is paid for every hour worked between midnight - 5am (where applicable).
