Job summary

B&Q Stockton is hiring a Customer Advisor for the Garden Centre. You’ll help customers, advise on projects, manage stock, set up displays and keep the store looking inviting. Training in paint-mixing and timber cutting is possible, with emphasis on great service.

The role is permanent, 36.75 hours per week, with shifts Monday to Sunday 6.00am–10.00pm. The UK hourly rate is £13.10. You’ll join a diverse team and enjoy benefits and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing and eager to help customers.
• Willing to learn new technology and processes.
• Able to work on a rota including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What we need:

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll have the opportunity to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
