Job summary

B&Q Harlow is recruiting a Customer Advisor for a part-time 20-hour per week, 3-month fixed-term contract. Shifts span Monday–Sunday, 6.00am–9.00pm, with a notional hourly rate of £13.10 including a location allowance.

You’ll be an expert advisor, handling sales, stock, displays and ensuring the store looks great. Training in paint-mixing and timber cutting may be provided, but exceptional customer service is the main aim.

Qualifications

• Friendly and outgoing, eager to learn, and a bit obsessed with home improvement.
• Willing to work on a rota including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
• Comfortable using new technology and learning new ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Sell products and guide customers to find the right solutions.
• Assist with stock management and keeping displays tidy and attractive.
• Provide excellent customer service and help customers with home improvement projects.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What we need:

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
