Job summary

B&Q Limited in Nottingham is hiring a Customer Advisor on a permanent part-time basis. This 19-hour-a-week role covers shifts across Monday to Sunday, 6:00am to 10:00pm, giving you flexibility in a busy retail environment.

You’ll help customers with home improvement advice, stock management, displays and showroom presentation. Training in paint-mixing and timber cutting is available, with a strong focus on friendly service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused attitude and good communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop retail skills.
• Team player with flexibility to work weekends/evenings/bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Help customers with home improvement advice and product selection.
• Assist with stock management and shelf replenishment.
• Set up product displays and ensure showroom looks presentable.
• Provide friendly service and support to customers throughout the store.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
