Job summary

B&Q Burgess Hill is seeking a Customer Advisor for a part-time role. You’ll help customers, support stock management, and keep displays appealing while learn­ing new skills. The job offers a permanent contract with shifts across Monday to Sunday, 7.00am–10.00pm.

We value friendly, motivated team players who enjoy home improvement and can work on a flexible rota that includes weekends and bank holidays. Training in paint-mixing and timber cutting may be provided.

Qualifications

• Friendly and outgoing, able to help others and learn quickly.
• Willing to work a rota including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
• Interest in home improvement and customer guidance.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with product recommendations and inquiries.
• Help manage stock and set up displays to keep the store looking inviting.
• Possibly train in paint-mixing and timber cutting to better serve customers.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What We Need

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
