Job summary

B&Q Boston is hiring a Customer Advisor on a part-time basis, offering shifts across 7.00am to 10.00pm, Monday to Sunday. The role pays £13.10 per hour and is a permanent contract, with on-site duties at the Boston store.

You will become an expert advisor, helping customers with home improvement projects, stock management, and displays. Training in paint-mixing and timber-cutting is available, but handling customers remains the priority.

Qualifications

• You are friendly, outgoing, eager to learn and passionate about home improvement.
• Team player who can work on a rota including weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.
• Willing to learn paint-mixing and timber-cutting during training.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales while assisting customers and keeping stock organised.
• Set up displays and ensure the store looks inviting.
• Provide great customer service as the main goal.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What we need:

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
