Job summary

PHL Group is seeking Forensic Healthcare Professionals to join the custody team in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. The role involves assessing and treating detainees in police custody, working alongside officers to ensure health needs are addressed and evidence is gathered through forensic examinations.

The position is part-time, 21 hours per week (7am – 7pm), with duties including clinical assessments, documentation, and coordinating care with the Forensic Medical Examiner.

Qualifications

• Clinical assessment of detainees and health needs
• Maintaining accurate, timely medical records
• Ability to communicate with custody officers and detainees

Responsibilities

• Deliver forensic practitioner services in custody environments.
• Maintain accurate documentation and injury logs.
• Advise custody officers on health needs and care prioritisation.
• Assess detainees’ fitness for detention, charges, and release.
• Manage alcohol/drug intoxication and withdrawal assessments.
