Job summary

Nottingham College is seeking a Curriculum Manager for A‑levels in Science and Maths to lead teaching, curriculum delivery and staff development at the High Pavement Campus. You will work with the Head of Faculty and Assistant Principal to drive high standards and secure excellent outcomes for a diverse student body.

• Significant experience teaching and leading in an A-level environment (Science and/or Maths).
• Experience of curriculum and people management.
• Recognised Level 5 teaching qualification.
• Strong understanding of teaching, learning and assessment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use attendance/achievement/retention data to drive improvement.
• Experience with curriculum development, quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Who we need

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate curriculum professional to join the Curriculum Leadership Team at our High Pavement Campus as Curriculum Manager for A levels – Science and Maths. This is one of our five faculty areas.

We are looking for an experienced teacher and curriculum leader who can inspire and support a large curriculum team, working alongside the Head of Faculty to drive high-quality teaching, learning and assessment and secure excellent outcomes for a diverse range of students.

As Curriculum Manager, you will provide effective leadership across the development, management, teaching and delivery of the curriculum area. You will play an important role in developing staff, maintaining high standards and ensuring students receive an engaging and high-quality learning experience

The successful candidate will have experience of teaching and working within an A-level environment, alongside experience within their relevant subject or curriculum area. You will deliver teaching within your specialism while managing a designated area of the Faculty.

Working closely with the Head of Faculty and Assistant Principal, you will:

• Lead high-quality teaching, learning and assessment.
• Support the development of science and maths.
• Contribute to curriculum development and improvement.
• Support and develop teaching staff.
• Use attendance, achievement and retention data to drive improvement.
• Implement effective quality assurance processes.
• Build relationships with stakeholders to enrich programmes of study.

• Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment within your own classes.

What you’ll bring

The successful candidate will have:

• Significant experience of teaching and working within an A-level environment, specifically in Science and/or Maths.

• A recognised Level 5 teaching qualification.
